On Saturday February 17th 2018 Sones Segovianos' youth orchestra performed at the local campus of Nicaragua's National Autonomous University (UNAN) in Estelí. They participated in an activity in honor of Don Felipe Urrutia, an important folk musician from Northern Nicaragua who would have celebrated his 100th birthday on February 5th, but who passed away in 2014. Hannah Curteis, Sones Segovianos' coordinator, launched her book with Don Felipe Urrutia's music.

From February 10th to March 3rd 2018 we receive our annual medical brigade to deliver care and support to people from rural communities in and around Estelí.

ICES, our community program addressing domestic violence, received the visit of Luz López from the Boston University School of Social Work and from Olivia Burke, psychology student from the US.

On Wednesday February 7th 2018 the Superemos Foundation and the Christine King Cooperative held an opening ceremony for the new classroom space that was built during the remodeling work in December 2017 and January 2018. Thanks to our donors we are able to offer a better infrastructure to the beneficiaries of our community projects.

On January 15th Koki Takada, a volunteer from Japan, arrived at the Superemos Foundation. He is going to support our different projects until August 2018.

Koki knows our foundation thanks to Ito Yukiyoshi. Ito is one of our supporters that helped us developing the solar panel workshops. Koki is 22 years old and is a last year physical education student. He will also support the PE classes at the "Escuale Normal".
