Boston University's Henry S. Goldman school of Dental Medicine sent a group of dental students and dentists to work in Estelí from March 2nd to March 6th. Part of the group worked in the dental clinic of Estelí "Leonel Rugama" municipal health center delivering care to 66 children. The rest of the group worked with local preschool educators on the pilot preventive dental health care program Boston University has developed with the local health authority in Estelí since 2016. The program has developed dental hygiene education in accompaniment to the quarterly application of fluoride varnish serving over 800 children in preschools in the city of Estelí. The group from Boston University is led by Dr. Michelle Henshaw.
