Educator Milagro Silva continues her work helping adolescents and young adults learn computer skills. Milagro's classes are small enough for her to help students who have difficulty assimilating new skills. A total of 24 students attend these computer classes. Currently we are using the lightweight Porteus Linux distribution which enables us to boot diskless clients over a network run from a USB device. The students learn to use word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications using the Libreoffice office suite. Milagro pays special attention to teaching her students basic financial management uses of a spreadsheet progamme and letter writing. Our students use Mozilla Firefox to learn internet navegation. We have found that most students quickly learn to use online e-mail and social media applications once they have become familiar with basic internet navigation.
