In April we have been able to renew the rear roof on the main school building. We found that about 40% of the old compressed cement fibre roof sheeting was damaged or deficient, only 30% was in fair condition for possible future use and another 30% was defective but still worth saving.
We were able to create much needed additional storage space and also improve the lighting in the offices and in the computer lab. We will also be able to improve the light in the two main classroom areas at the front of the school by removing defective roof sheeting there and replacing them with transparent fibre-glass.
Overall this work will dramatically improve the site for all the various project participants. We are very grateful to the Christine King Memorial Trust for the funding tht has made these improvements possible.
