Irlanda Chevez is a student of the Estelí Women's School. She graduated with her baccalaureate qualification in December 2011. Irlanda explains why the Estelí Women's School is important to her and her fellow students:
“I'm a single mother so it's difficult for me to study without the kind of course provided by the Estelí Women's School, especially because they help women like me with scholarships. For me, getting my baccalureate is a dream come true because every young person wants to finish their secondary schooling. It's also very important in terms of my family, they are very proud of me. And it's important as well for my two children, because I'll be able to give them a better life.... I definitely intend to continue my studies.”

At the Estelí Women's School we are all very grateful to all our supporters, especially to the Central American Fund for Human Development which funds 80 scholarships every year for women from low-income families, very often single working mothers with young children.
