A delegation led by Dr Peter Loewithan of Boston's Dorchester House Multi Service Center visited Esteli on February 21st. The group consisted of medical personnel Dr Peter Loewinthan, Dr. Austin Egan and Dr. Kirsten Meisinger , residents Dr. Catalina Hoyos and Dr. Molly Broder and medical students Yuen Lie Tjoeng and Catherine Chapin. Also with the delegation were New York fireman Ed Poli, forester Mark Herbert and his partner Julie.

While the doctors and medical students have been seeing well over a hundred patients a day, Ed, Mark and Julie have carried out much needed maintenance and construction work for a community preschool in Estelí's Barrio Nuevo Amanecer, the Casa de la Mujer in Matagalpa and in the Superemos project centre.

The delegation was coordinated with the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health to whom we are extremely grateful for facilitating transport and use of health posts for some of the delegation's program.

We are also very grateful to everyone who contributed to making Dr. Loewinthan's delegation possible this year. We'll put up more photos of the delegation's visit to Estelí and Matagalpa shortly.
