The devastating flooding in later September destroyed the embankment carrying the Panamerican Highway adjacent to the Superemos project site. The Ministry of Transport is carrying out impressive engineering work to protect the highway. To our good fortune, that work necessarily involves a retention barrier that will protect the Superemos site. Superemos was also the beneficiary of a grant of US$3000 with which to purchase construction materials to rebuild the infrastructure lost to the floods.
